Travel Beauty Essentials

Where travel beauty differs from an everyday routine is its limitations – a limit on time, a limit on products, and a limit on your tool kit. There’s a real art to packing the perfect travel beauty kit to take you in flight, on the road or wherever work or play may be calling you. It’s an art we’re going to share with you now, from the products you have to have on hand to the tools you need to do the heavy lifting for you. From on-the-go multi-taskers to in-flight saviours, we’ve got your ultimate travel beauty loot covered.

An essential wherever you may be applying your mineral makeup is our Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener. This primer brightens the complexion to create the illusion of well-rested skin (a luxury when you’re on the go), plus it ensures your skin stays fresh, hydrated and healthy despite climate and however much makeup you’re applying on top of it.

A powder foundation is perfect for evening out the complexion as powders are easy to seamlessly layer if you feel you’ve lost a bit of coverage after a long flight, drive or day of errand running. While they’re the perfect consistency for on-the-go touch ups, unfortunately powders are impractical for speedy application – unless you have the right tools, that is. Our Refill-Me Refillable Loose Powder Brush allows you to decant your favourite powder (ours is our Amazing Base Loose Mineral Powder) into its base, and apply the powder straight from the brush to your face! This is a handbag essential too as our Amazing Base is SPF 20+ so you can use it to top up your sun protection throughout the day as well as using it to absorb any excess oil on the T-Zone.

To add a bit of extra glow, a great highlighter is key. Our In Touch Highlighter in Complete has a creamy consistency that lends itself to application straight from the tube or using your fingertips, so it’s perfect for travel as it eradicates the need for a brush.

Our PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner and Longest Lash Thickening & Lengthening Mascara are a match made in travel beauty heaven. We all know that travelling, particularly air travel, can dry out the skin, and it can have the very same effect on our hair – that includes our lashes. If you’re having a makeup-free day you can use our Extender and Conditioner as a treatment (think of it as a skin care routine for your lashes!), or as a base for Longest Lash Mascara.

If you’re dehydrated, your lips will be the first place to show it. Swap out your regular lipstick for a hydrating, travel friendly alternative like our LipDrink Lip Balm in the shade Flirt. LipDrink takes the moisture of a lip balm (perfect for chapped in-flight lips) and adds a subtle wash of colour to pull your look together. The beauty of a light pink colour, rather than a deep red or plum, is that you don’t need to be as precise as you would be with a bold colour – so no mirror required!

To keep your makeup looking fresh and save your skin from drying out, keep our Lemongrass Love Hydration Spray handy. A spritz of this will refresh your makeup and rehydrate the skin – but don’t forget about your hands! Our HandDrink will keep your hands from feeling tight and dry, plus it will ensure they’re protected from the sun thanks to the inclusion of SPF (your hands are one of the first spots to show the visible signs of ageing, so keep them protected!)

Makeup removal can prove difficult whilst travelling given limited beauty bag room, particularly if you favour bulky packets of wipes or a cotton pad and makeup remover combo. Our Magic Mitt, as its name suggests, is magic. It allows you to thoroughly remove makeup and grime from the skin without any additional products – just add water to our super soft microfibre cloth to cleanse the skin without the need for potentially pH altering foams and cleansers!

There’s a real knack to travel beauty, but the most important thing to consider is the health of your skin. With this in mind, opt for products that care for and hydrate your skin, allowing it to breathe through long haul flights or wherever the summer may take you.
